Pierre joined MPP Grant Crack and Russell Township Councillor Jamie
Laurin in presenting congratulatory certificates to Judi Hubbard,
the president of the Russell District Women's Institute on the
wonderful occasion of their 75th anniversary.
Pierre presented the president
of the Russell District Women's Institute with a
certificate congratulating the Women's Institute
on their 75th anniversary, as well as a copy of
his speech in the House of Commons highlighting
the Women's Institute and three of their members
who were recently recognized for their 50-year
memberships. Pierre
was invited to Le Palais in Alexandria to celebrate
a number of significant birthdays. Among the eight
birthdays being celebrated were 753 years of life experience. The
following Le Palais residents have significant birthdays
in 2012: Catherine Hartrick (99 years), Bertha
Highfield (98), Therese Seguin (95), Edna
Major (95),
Alberta Wells (93), Rita Decaire (92), Nellie
McGillis (91) and Mora
Cunning (90).
Pierre invited the Director General of Groupe Action of Prescott-Russell
for lunch in the Parliamentary Restaurant to acknowledge the important services
that he and his team at Groupe Action provide to families in need in throughout
Prescott-Russell.
Pierre visited the Alexandria
Community Nursing Home to present a Canadian
Flag to the residents. To receive the flag
from Pierre were Veterans in

Pierre
attended the opening of the Alexandria
Farmers’ Market in their new location
at Glengarry District High School. He presented
certificates to outgoing President Robert
Bedard and
outgoing Vice-President Cathy
Bennett for
all of their hard work over these past years to
ensure the success of the farmers’ market.
Pierre also
presented a Canadian flag to the new market President
Gerard Rault and he was joined
by vendors at the market.

Pierre attended the grand opening of J. Lanfranco Fastener
Systems warehouse in Hawkesbury. He presented a Canadian
flag to their Vice-President, Jason Baines of Dalkeith, who
has been involved with Lanfranco for over 12 years. They
service customers all throughout North America and abroad. Other
members of the Lanfranco team are Dean Morrow, Elena
Moska, Tiffany DiRico and Christine DiRico.

Pierre thanks Jean-Pierre Mayer
from Aide Budgetaire Hawkesbury for his
free tax services provided to low income residents of Glengarry-Prescott-Russell
through a Revenue Canada Program. Pierre's
office worked closely with Mr. Mayer to arrange 25 meetings
with residents in Pierre’s Rockland office to
allow Mr. Mayer to help them with their tax filings. Throughout
this tax season, Mr Mayer will have helped close to 200
residents of Glengarry-Prescott-Russell with their taxes.
Pierre joined the Egg Farmers
of Canada for breakfast at Parliament Hill. He
enjoyed an excellent omelette while discussing supply management
and egg farming issues with egg farmer and Director of Egg
Farmers of Ontario, Marcel Cleroux of St Isidore.
Pierre visited Bobby Lalonde in
his music store in Vankleek Hill to present Bobby with a
bottle of champagne to thank him for being the Master
of Ceremonies at his Spring Gala since the first Gala six years
ago and to thank Bobby for his important contributions to
music, particularly among the youth.

Pierre celebrated the grand opening
of Green Tech Ag & Turf Inc. in St-Isidore
and offered his congratulations, as well as a Canadian flag
and an MP certificate, to mark the event. Pierre commented
that the opening of Green Tech shows that agriculture is
alive and well in GPR and Green Tech's John Deere presence
is much appreciated by local farmers.
